High Life and Hip Life

HighLife and it’s progression to HipLife.  High Life stated around the 1920’s 30’s and is a combination of traditional Ghanaian drums with the additions of brass instruments and strings.  It started as a chilled out party music.  During the 90’s the Hip Hop scene from the US began to have a big impact of Ghanaian music.  The next step was a cross between High Life and Hip Hop.  This became Hip Life and the Godfather if this brand of music was Reggie Rockstone.
